The Church of San Domenico is part of the late Baroque architecture. Designed by architect Rosario Gagliardi, it was built between 1703 and 1727 as a convent church for the Dominican Fathers. The curved facade is a distinctive feature, with two architectural orders and niches designed for statues. Inside, the church has a Greek cross plan with five domes decorated with elaborate stuccoes.
The curved facade is a notable architectural feature, and the interior of the church is rich in artworks. The main altar houses a statue of the Madonna del Rosario inside a golden wood canopy carved by Antonio Basile. Among the noteworthy artworks are paintings by Antonio Mazza and Vito D’Anna depicting saints and the Madonna del Rosario. The sacristy contains a lavabo carved from stone dating back to the 17th century and an inlaid wood cabinet from the 18th century. The church has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 2002.
